BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

“behind closed doors’ ist ein multinationales Trio unter der Leitung von Christoph Teuschel, das sich im Gewand des klassischen Powertrios, Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug, präsentiert. Die instrumentalen, Prog-Rock und -Metal lastigen Kompositionen werden durch Implementierung eines klassischen Streichquartetts komplettiert und kontrastiert. Dies kreiert ein individuelles und unkonventionelles Klangbild.

Den Übergang zwischen E- und U-Musik begreift “behind closed doors” als fließend, ihre Musik als Form des Ausdrucks der Conditio Humana bedient sich den Kompositionstechniken von Pärt und Coates ebenso wie den Polyrhythmen von Meshuggah. “behind closed doors” Anspruch ist es, diesen vermeintlichen Widerspruch kohärent darzustellen und wirken zu lassen.    

Die Bandmitglieder von “behind closed doors” sind Berufsmusiker mit jeweils über 15 Jahren Erfahrung in verschiedenen zeitgenössischen Ensembles und Bands und haben mit diesen unter anderem Konzerttourneen in Europa, den USA, Südamerika und Asien absolviert.

Formatted by their aesthetically resonant cultural and professional backgrounds in the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden, the trio push the envelope of genre boundaries combining contemporary metal with contemporary classical music.

Their amalgam of guitars, bass, drums and a classical string quartet creates a unique auditory image that embraces the full spectrum the instrumentation offers, from ferocious heaviness to delicate tenderness. 

All three members of behind closed doors are full time professional recording and touring musicians, playing with behind closed doors as well as other bands, ensembles and projects in various genres and countries.
